audiophilicity
Monday, August 25, 2008
since i sooooo loved rosie's audiophilic blog entry, not to mention my own audiophilic nature... well, i've decided to post another set of my "audiophilicity". (yeah, i invented the word...)

When you are with me I'm free
I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
My Sacrifice
--- what's the connection between freedom, carelessness, ability to fly, and sacrifice? could you enlighten me again...

If you could see what I see
That you're the answer to my prayers
And if you can feel
The tenderness I feel
You would know
It would be clear
That angels brought me here
--- one word. egoism.

You could see in the dark
You were guiding my heart
--- wow. cool superpower!

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know youre unlike any other?
Youll always be my thunder,
--- sooooo... he loves a thunderous, roaring voice, huh??

and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I dont wanna ever love another
Youll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
And bring on the thunder

--- a thunder with the brightest of all the colors... hmm....

So go on, go on, come on, leave me breathless
--- oooh... masochistic much?

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
--- uh huh. no comment.

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone
--- scatterbrained drifter??

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
--- that might not be your shadow... a monster, may be?

It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin
--- how about a visit to a psychiatrist?

I can't find anything to be sad about
They say I'm doomed, but I feel fine
--- that's the spirit, maroon 5!

And I've got all that I need
Right here in the passenger seat
Oh and I can't keep my eyes on the road
Knowing that she's inches from me
--- uh huh. see you in the afterlife then...

hmm... what more could i say?
the day was fun.
i think i dont allow myself to post a detailed entry for today...

XOXO

variability
Sunday, August 24, 2008
"...always account for variable changes..."

the movie 21 was great. haven't had any clues about the ever famous card game "blackjack" but the movie was interestingly good.
besides, it was based on a real-life story...
THAT made it better.
new profitable business in mind: counting cards.
lol.

variable.
the inconsistent thing that keeps on changing, changing...
i do believe that change is the only constant thing in this world. yeah.
people change... things change...

"...he just asked you a simple question..."
"yeah, and that changed everything."

well, since i was talking about variability, this entry's gonna have various topics to discuss...

depression is contagious.
it's really unhealthy to hang out with dejected, down-in-the-dumps people. they are like unpleasant suctions that draw happiness from others...
and you, mr. im-depressed-and-i-want-everyone-to-feel-the-same-way, stop screwing around my bestfriend.
(that's sorta straight)
you cant wallow in the pain of the past. that's freakin' cowardice.!! and when you want something (or in your case, someone)... when you really, REALLY want it... you're going to do everything in your power to get it.
you wont just stand still and stare with dreamy eyes...
you ARE going to do something about it.
anything, really.
depression is contagious. it is a disease.
and diseases are supposed to be destroyed.
annihilated completely.

i love latin!! latin is great!!
why is it that they have latin subject in europe?! im jeaaaloooouuus....

im reading this book that topher lent me...
"Haunted" by Chuck Palahniuk.
it IS upsetting...
not the sort of horror books which generally involve supernatural crap...
it is a horror book which involves common stuff... twisted and distorted to be eerily upsetting.
the book contains 23 stories... i've just read the first story.
and it was sick.
mr. palahniuk was a great writer. he made my stomach churn as i was reading the tale "GUTS"...
i could almost feel the very sensation that the character felt.. and it was creepy.
and there are just a few books that upset me.
heavy mutilation, macabre deaths, gory murder details --- it doesnt upset me.
i love gory details.
i AM a gory writer. (what would you call anyone who would write a short story about a man killed with an enormous kitchen knife protruding from his head to his throat when she was 11yrs old?)
fine, fine... the first story wasnt terrifying. not even close to that.
it was simply... UPSETTING.
but then, i prefer being terrified than being upset... lol.
it was a nine-page short story. the first half, i was laughing at the stupidities made by the other characters as told by the main character. the 2nd half...
let's just say that my stomach was churning as i turn the pages...
due to my overactive imagination, i was able to conjure a full-colored, detailed mind movie of the story.
read the book if you're curious.
i recalled that topher told me that i might not be able to handle the book due to its apparent morbidity.
well, morbidity is one of my closest friends.
i love the story. that would be it. it electrically intensified my imagination.

am also reading "GOOD OMENS" by neil gaiman and terry pratchett.
it plays on armageddon, the bible, evil, god, and all that...
highly amusing.
highly interesting.
you'll wonder about stuff and all that...

am writing a literary article about something gory. again.
well, literary section of the schoolpaper has a theme that focuses on "reverse fairytales".
very broad theme, in fact.
and knowing me, it will be morbid in any other way.

am also writing a feature article about the definition of evil.
feature section's theme is "science vs religion"... the infamous battle of the world's greatest strongholds of power.

am also writing news articles...
well... themes arent needed.
i still prefer fiction to fact. lol.

well, this is getting longer than the intended number of words.
gotta go
poof.

audiophile.... LOL
Sunday, August 17, 2008
supposed to be studying for the 1st periodical exams but temptation got in my way.
again.
so, well, i dont know why but i have this urge to post an entry in this blog.
actually, ANY entry.
(look at how temptation works.. lol.)

im a so-called "audiophile". it's just that, sometimes, i overanalyze the songs... lol. anyway, im going to post excerpts/lines/phrases from songs...
im not against starry-eyed idealistic love songs, mind you. i adore these songs. i just cant help but post this entry anyways...

When you look me in the eyes,
And tell me that you love me.
Everything's alright,
When you're right here by my side.
When you look me in the eyes,
I catch a glimpse of heaven.
I find my paradise,
When you look me in the eyes.
--- why is it that heaps (and i mean HEAPS) of love songs are always, ALWAYS so damned positive and exaggerated about love? im not against love or anything. it's just that a fact that ive observed... lol.

I know that I should get on with my life
But a life lived without you could never be right
--- if you know what to do and you're not doing it, then you admit that you're stupid?

How many times do I daydream about making love to you
Take you to a special place Where it’s only me and you
I put away all your troubles On the other side of the world
And wrap my arms around your heart And tell you you’re my girl
(So let’s go steal away in the night)
And I’ll go far away from here
(Tell you that’s where our love is right)
Can I take you to my world?
--- overblown lust?!? and he's planning to abduct the girl and force her to believe that his "love" is right... crap. LOL.

Gonna open my eyes
And see for the first time
I let go of you like
A child letting go of his kite
--- why would a child let go of his kite, anyway? it would only be because he has gotten tired of it, right? it wouldn't be accidental. you see, the keyword was "letting go"

Can we go back to the days our love was strong
Can you tell me how a perfect love goes wrong
Can somebody tell me how to get things back
They way they use to be
Oh god give me a reason
I'm down on bended knee
--- sorry, time travel is not yet possible. btw, if a love is perfect then it cant go wrong. now, considering that it WENT WRONG, it means one thing: love is not perfect.

When the future's architectured
By a carnival of idiots on show
You'd better lie low
If you love me Won't you let me know?
Was a long and dark December
When the banks became cathedrals
And the fog Became God
Priests clutched onto bibles
And went out to fit their rifles
And the cross was held aloft
--- to understand this song i took it apart. the part about the future being architecture by idiots i could actually relate to today because it's like you have a bunch of famous people being idiots and setting a bad example for the future and so you should "lie low". But it also relates to the past when people in europe not thinking for themselves and being controlled by the catholic church. And the part about the banks becoming cathedrals is about how the church made tithes a tax that had to be paid. Also the fog becoming god connotes that the people were confused by the church's demands but it was claimed to be the will of god so people believed it. Religion was the fuel of almost every fire and that's why it says the cross was held aloft.

I've got a right to be wrong
My mistakes will make me strong
I'm stepping out into the great unknown
I'm feeling wings though I've never flown
I've got a mind of my own
I'm flesh and blood to the bone
I'm not made of stone
Got a right to be wrong
So just leave me alone
--- you can say that again, joss stone...

I bleed it out digging deeper just to throw it away,
I bleed it out digging deeper just to throw it away,
I bleed it out digging deeper just to throw it away,
Just to throw it away, Just to throw it away,...
--- termed as "the tampon song" by simon... LOL

You've made yourself a bed at the bottom of the blackest hole (blackest hole)
And convinced yourself that its not the reason you don't see the sun anymore
--- saying that it is so pessimistic would be the understatement of the month. (the understatement of the year is yet to come.. lol.)

Cause here in my heart
There's a picture of us
Together forever
Unfaded and unbroken
Wherever you are
Your love covers me
Forever more you'll be
Here in my heart
--- remember what i said about love songs being so damn exaggerated and overly positive??

I'm just a kid and life is a nightmare
I'm just a kid, I know that its not fair
Nobody cares, cause I'm alone and the world is having more fun than me
Tonight
--- now, that's what i call a true blue emo...

I believe in you
Even if no one understands
I Believe in you, and I don't really give a damn
If we're stigmatized
We live our lives on different sides
But we keep together you and I
--- is this what it means when they say "you and me against the world"?? btw, how can you live your lives on different sides and still keep together?? long-distance relationship, you mean?

Unhappiness, was when I was young
And we didn't give a damn
'Cause we were raised
To see life as fun and take it if we can
--- told you so... ignorance is NOT bliss.

Running through the monsoon
Beyond the world
To the end of time
Where the rain won't hurt
Fighting the storm
Into the blue
And when I lose myself I think of you
Together we'll be running somewhere new
And nothing can hold me back from you
Through the monsoon
--- okaaaay. do that. fight against nature. fight against the laws of physics. your love is enough anyway...*you hear that? that is called sarcasm.*

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

skepticism
Saturday, August 16, 2008
what happens to a dream deferred?
does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?
or does it explode?

Skepticism is perhaps one of the best and most rudimentary spirits in mankind. Without it we cannot search; without it we cannot reason; without it we cannot wonder; we cannot inquire; we cannot contemplate. Without it we are not intelligent. We are a stray and hungry dog, and we will eat anything fed us.

Skepticism is a two edged sword, both sides sharp, as pure as blue steel and just as clean. One side does not allow us to believe everything off hand; the other does not let us necessarily dismiss anything off hand.

Skepticism is, in a way, the mediating influence upon curiosity which guides it toward wisdom.

(taken from bermuda triangle website)

im supposed to be studying right now but, well, temptations... ugh.

i was just wondering about the bermuda triangle and all that crap. i surfed the net for information. well, the majority of the stuff that ive read was about testimonials of those who lived to tell the tale, the physics involved in the theories, the words of the skeptics...
it was just so interesting that a place like the bermuda triangle exists. even though modern science still has quite a way to go to prove anything about the seemingly metaphysical phenomena of the said location, it is quite refreshing to fill your mind with the unknown.

A FEW ******** TO LIVE BY:

~~~ I dont read books. I stare them down until I get the information I want.
~~~ I died ten years ago. It's just that no Grim Reaper can get up the courage to tell me.
~~~ I dont wear a watch. I decide what time it is.
~~~ I can slam a revolving door.
~~~ I can speak Braille.
~~~ When I give you the finger, im actually telling you how many seconds you have left to live
~~~ I dont play "hide and seek". I play "hide and pray i wont find you."
hahaha... am i bored enough to write that?! lol.
debate, spontaneity, and crap
Friday, August 15, 2008
Don't worry about opposition. Remember, a kite rises against the wind, not with the wind.
what can i say?
let's see...
ncae preparation. 4 days. pretest, then 2 days review, then posttest.
it was a crappy system though.
i mean, the exams for the pretest were also the exams for the posttest. then, as if they were really trying to demonstrate something not quite good, we had a two-day review of the answers to the pretests!!!
what is it that they were trying to evaluate anyway?
our memorization skills?!?
i remember something that i read... it said something along the lines of boredom being mankind's greatest sin or something like that.
well, im freakin' bored.
not actually RIGHT NOW.
im just generally bored. and i hate feeling that way. that's why i want to be in college right now. it might be harder and more complicated than highschool life but at least it will be something different. at least, it will be a change... a twist.
"...in movement there is life, and in change there is power..."
i cant really recall who said that famous quote. but i surely love that quote. it basically summarizes how i feel about changes.
i like debates. and it shows.
it's just that it's hard to find someone to whom you can talk. ive met several people who can hold their grounds with me. and they're actually not quite that "accessible" to me right now.
great minds talk about ideas, average minds talk about places, poor minds talk about people.
well, let's just say thay there are HEAPS of poor minds going around here...
i want good debate partners. well, i do have good debate partners but like what i said, they're not accessible.
i have lots of fears. and being bored to death is one of those.
7 more months to go and i'll finally be a college student...
damn. i must be so eager that im actually counting off the months!
i just want a twist in my life. just like my exchange year. i dont like routine. i want spontaneity.
XOXO
trinoma
Sunday, August 10, 2008
well... anne and chippy left at around 2 this afternoon.
now, im supposed to be doing my essay for ADMU... but, well...
temptations...
tsk tsk...
sooo... this weekend is so totally rockin'!
from 7am to 7pm, i was out and about.
let's see...
7am, anne went to UP for her CS11. chippy and i went to their place for some errands.
9:00, chippy and i went to school for the journalism saturday training. it was FUN! well, roseann and mico were there. i dont miss mico since he's also a batchmate. but i do miss rosie!! snce 1st year, the 3 of us have been getting our kicks through debates and other methods of channeling our overloaded imagination. lol. i miss the "10 words of the day" (or basically, any number of words...)
we are booklovers.
we are wordworms.
and i miss that!
debates are fun, fun, FUN!!!
12:00, journalism class was over. we were just talking about basically anything.
then, nikko came. and we (rosie, rowane, chito, chippy, mico, nikko, and i) all took a ride to the mrt station. then we went to trinoma where anne was waiting for us. ate lunch. then of we went to timezone!!
3:30, rosie and rowane left... they had to go home already.
4pm, we went to UP.
the thing was that there was something with AFS yesterday. they have a new national director. and he is from argentina!!! of course, i would want to meet him. the "afs something" was actually supposed to be from 9am... but of course, i was with the 'journmates'.
we all went to UP except for chito.
then, we saw tintin!!! and she went with us.
i met the argentine national director!! and of course, we talked in spanish. i so missed talking in spanish... kuya don (an afs returnee) was teasing me, saying "im sorry" with his hands raised in a manner of surrender. haha...
5:15, we were waiting for the jeep. then a group of kids approached us. they were asking for bottles. that itself is not bad. but they were asking for tintin's pepsi bottle which was still halffull. and they werent exactly asking nicely... they even said "kahit barya na lang" (coins would suffice)...
they were asking and asking for quite a few minutes and they were starting to get on our nerves. mico was telling them that he had no coins to give. his coins were only enough for his fare, but the kids kept on insisting. chippy told them off, saying that they have to understand that we're not rich and that if someone tells them that he has no money then that's that. but the kids went on. we were getting all bummed out. i dont know what exactly happened but they started going away. one of them told us "ang dadamot nyo. mamamatay din kayo, mga g@go" ('cheapskates! you're also gonna die, *insert any swearword here*')
i was like "mauuna kayo samin" ('you'll go first')
mico told them, "death is inevitable!"
:LOL:
5:30, we were in the mrt...
then we went to trinoma again where chippy and i bought bracelets. then we took a ride.
basically, it was a fun day. 12 hours out of the house and just hanging out. cool.
we dont want to go home yet but we all have to face the fact that schoolwork is still hanging over our heads. lol.
some other time then...
sweet.
last night, upon arriving, i was supposed to do my essay for ADMU. but, of course, temptation got in my way... weffriddles.com
teamwork rocks!!
mico, nikko, anne, and i were doing the riddles of batch 1.
teamwork through ym is effective. lol.
we finished the 29 riddles of batch 1.
now, we're on to batch 2... but it would have to wait for a while. remember the schoolwork hanging on our heads?
okay. i really have to do the schoolwork.
XOXO
braindead
yay!
it was such a nice day. (understatement of the highest degree)
journalism was cool. the freshies were quite good. we had a sort of a spelling quiz bee (roseann's idea). the freshies were good considering that they're just freshies. then, we (rosie, mico, and i) shared our radicality to them. well, we arent exactly demoralizing them or whatever. we were simply opening their minds to the opposing beliefs of people.
ignorance is NOT bliss all the times.
so we were telling them about the counter arguments for the existence of God such as the free will paradox, the argument from evil, etc...
and of course, to not be biased, we also told them about the proGod arguments such as teleological arguments and others...
it was cool. really.
then, nikko, chippy, rowane, mico, chito, roseann, and i went to trinoma where anne was waiting for us.
paolo and aubrey werent able to go with us because of some reasons. lol.
kat wasnt able to go coz, basically, she has her midterm this afternoon. so what was she doing in the journ saturday class anyway??
nothing.
she just wanted to.
that was brave, kat... lol.
the bonding moment in trinoma was great!!! i would share details but im too sleepy to think clearly. if i misspell something, please forgive me. the writer of this blog is simply under the state of catatonic brain dead syndrome. (huh?)
it's actually past 1 in the morning and im still awake.
sleepy, tired, brain dead, but awake...
finally, anne and i got through the 29 questions of batch 1 from the weffriddles.com!!!
now, im sooo brain dead.
it's all dried up.
and im sleepy....
gonna share more tomorrow.
those who were with me this afternoon, that was FUN!
let's do that again. of course.
anyway, gotta poof.
BRAIN LEAK
Sunday, August 3, 2008
that was a brainleaking yesterday...
o_0
im dead nervous about it. i cant believe it but im more nervous now that the upcat's already over.
nocturnal me slept at 6AM this morning.
two people tried to keep up with me. mico failed. he was up and about until around 4... then i guess he's just not that nocturnal to begin with...
nikko was able to keep up. he left at around 5:40AM...
night is the best time of the day. it is when no one bothers you. it is when every other soul is sleeping.
im not feeling so poetical right this moment.
i actually want a debate right now. lol.
naaaa... really. debates are cool. you will have to dig deep in your brain and rummage through your messy mind for ideas... and you expand your knowledge as well!
i have heaps to say... heaps to write, i mean.
but, i think it will be better if i keep all of them to myself for now.
lol.
till here
